Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Icy and fast Tuesday evening. Some avoidable debris and thin in spots on yellow. Please help remind hikers to stay off groomed trails. Overall not bad considering the winter we've had. Slick and washed out on the downhill corners.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Excellent conditions for classic skiing on Saturday.
The tracks were firm and consistent. Klister worked great in the transformed snow. Not as icy as I expected.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Touched up the skating lanes today. Probably won't groom again until after the weekend. Overall good conditions.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Trails are in excellent condition at Zillmer. Some trail debris and exposed areas on the front half of yellow. Easily avoided skating, not sure on striding. Everything else is as perfect as it gets. There has been a noticeable effort made to make the trail as wide as possible. This is much appreciated by us taller skaters. There is nothing quite like skating on fresh cord while the snow is falling!

Grooming
[ B skis ]
The trails made it through the warm temps and rain rather well. We received 1-2 inches of snow last night. I packed, groomed and tracked all loops today. Conditions are good throughout with a firm base. There are some thin areas on the yellow loop, especially in the track, on the ridge on the east side of the yellow loop.

Grooming Scheduling
The trails have now re-opened. However, the forest has only received about an inch of new snow over the weekend, and staff have done no recent grooming. Trail conditions are icy, and skiers are advised to use caution. There is a possibility of more snow Monday into Tuesday, and staff may be able to do some grooming Tuesday morning.

Grooming Scheduling
Conditions: Trails closed. Recent warm temperatures have made the skiing surface extremely soft. Use of the trail at this time will create deep grooves, which will be difficult for groomers to remove once temperatures return to freezing.
We expect with the colder temps coming this weekend that the trails will be open again on Sunday, if the rain and warm temps don't destroy them. No grooming to be done this weekend.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Yellow - moderate debris with some hill sections getting thin, but much of trail still very good. Red - very good with some debris on hills.
Many thanks to groomers at Zillmer and Greenbush for their efforts.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Good to very good for classic.
Tracks were in really good shape this Tuesday morning, except for the first half of the yellow trail, which had some dirt / grass patches. I did pick up a lot of debris in my kick wax, probably mostly from the yellow and brown trails... green / red were cleaner. By 1:00, the sun was softening the snow, so it may be slick on Wednesday.
